MARÍA MARTÍN CAMPOS (soprano)
Born in Irun (Spain) in 1996, she currently studies singing at Musikene in San Sebastian under the guidance of mezzosoprano Maite Arruabarrena and repertorists Javier Pérez de Azpeitia and Maciej Pikulski. She also studies at Conservatoy A. Boito di Parma under the guidance of mezzo-soprano Adriana
Cicogna and repertorist Raffaele Cortesi.
She began her professional studies at the Francisco Escudero Conservatory, where she graduated from singing. She has extended her training with master classes from Ana Luisa Chova, Celia Alcedo, Ainhoa Garmendia, David Mason and Paul Smith.
She has won the audience award in “VIII Internacional de Canto de Medinaceli”in 2021.She has also been doubly awarded first prize in singing at the contest “Concurso de Jóvenes Intérpretes de Euskadi” in 2015 and 2017. She was also the winner of the second prize at the contest “Intercentros Melómano de España” in 2017.
She has interpreted several oratorios, operas, and zarzuelas. Amongst them, the most important one is her role as Zerlina in W.A. Mozart’s Don Giovanni with Iker Sánchez as conductor. She has also taken part as a soloist in G. Mahler’s 4th Simphony and J. Rutter’s Magnificat with the EGO (Basque Youth Orchestra) under the baton of Juan José Ocón.
